I got my start in IT during the Y2K boom, doing maintenance and changes on COBOL-based applications run by the State of Georgia. In my 20+ years in software, I have designed, implemented, and supported software and data solutions across a multitude of platforms, for organizations of almost every industry, shape, and size.
In so doing, I have learned quite a bit about technical leadership, data strategy, data integration, and systems thinking. I have also learned about building and growing team and client relationships for everyone's benefit.
My primary focus for the last dozen years has been on Modern Data Architecture with the Microsoft Azure platform. This involves using Hadoop and post-Hadoop approaches with cloud technology to create solutions that exceed the horizons of traditional data warehousing efforts. I led multiple Fortune 100 companies in journeys down on this path as a Lead Architect with Perficient, Clarity Insights, and Smartbridge.
